review 1: Fabulous Fishes is a book all about fishes and all of the different kinds of fish that live in the ocean. This book helps show kids all the different fish that are out there and the illustrations help them to know what they look like. This book is also cool because in the book it has a glossary of more specifics of what each fish is like. This is a good intro book for kids that are just starting to learn more about the world around them. I think I would've liked this book more if it was more specific and went in to a little more detail instead of just stating the obvious that was shown in the picture like how there a flat fish and big fish. This is a good book to show kids what different kinds of fish can look like.
review 2: This rhyming picture book can be us... moreed like a non-fiction book. While only a few of the fish are named in the story the striped fish and the spikey fish along with all the others, are real fish. The pages following the story show a small version of the illustration, the fish name, an additional sentence about it and where it can be found in the world. If one checks the title page even the fish on the end pages are named. The children will probably recognize and be able to name a few of the fish before learning more.
