review 1: This book is a treasure. It will bring you happiness all year. I learned so much about the American history of Christmas in the 20th century. The crafts are truly unique and delightful. The author provides great resources for supplies, and she gives detailed instruction on every facet of each project she presents. The photos of vintage Christmas ephemera will entrance and mesmerize you. I'll use this reference year 'round to enjoy Christmas crafting anytime. Thanks Susan Waggoner!
review 2: I originally got this book thinking it would be a window into great past Christmas ornaments and toys of yesteryear. What I got, again, was another "do it yourself" craft book. The only redemming quality for this one was all the information given before the crafts of each de... morecade. Starting with the 20's and ended in the 60's, each decade opens with a, "what would a _____ decade Christmas look like" and then proceds to tell of how a 20's Christmas is all red and white, as opposed to a 60's Christmas that started out with pastel ornaments to end the era with day glo. less
