review 1: 3.5 starsThese are the days when I wish there were half stars on Goodreads, because this book deserves more than 3, but not quite 4. Storm Force had a decent suspense plot, with military and paranormal elements, and it included a sweet romance. I liked the main characters, Mori and Kell, as well as the other characters and imagine there will be more books coming that feature the various teammates of Omega Force. While I can't give it 4 stars, mainly because I thought it was good but not great, I would definitely read future stories in this series.
review 2: I really enjoyed reading this Kindle Serial, but it was really hard to wait for each episode to arrive every week! I thought this was a well-written PNR, and while at the beginning of the book I wanted to
... more strangle the heroine, Mori, because of her behavior towards the villain, the last episode more than made up for that (she becomes more of an agent in her own rescue/defense). This ends with a very plausible HFN between the Hero/heroine, and I like how the romance developed over the course of the book. Storm Force had the feel of a paranormal romantic suspense. Usually I'm not a fan of RS because it's difficult to get a good balance of romance and action/suspense, but I like this mix of action and romance, even if the villain was a bit over the top at times. I'm wondering how all the episodes will work together as a whole - if this will read as a cohesive novel in the future, now that all the episodes are completed. I believe that it will, but I think the cliffhanger endings might make for rougher transitions between chapters. I'm going to have to re-read this in the future to see what I think. The worldbuilding suffered a bit from the episodic nature of the book (length of the episodes no doubt played a part in that), but hopefully that will be more developed in future books of the series.I enjoyed the experience so much that I will definitely read future serials in the series, and I pre-ordered another serial by a favorite author. Prior to reading Storm Force, I really wasn't sold on the idea of the serial, but I think in the right hands it can be very well done. Definitely recommend this one to readers of PNR. less
