review 1: Anastasia's Secret A complete and utter disappointment. It can't get worse than this.Anastasia was such a child at all times, and that's not even saying enough. I mean, your family is being held captive and all you can think of is escaping (for a few hours) to have a smooch session with one of your captors? Forget the fact that you were a GRAND DUCHESS and now you're practically less than a rat -although (on second thought) they are better because they aren't evil scum (like you) - and still, we don't get any reaction from you, at all; you don't only put yourself in dire danger but all of your loved family, for which you kind of kill yourself, at the end, when you refuse to escape - because yeah, you had that opportunity and you threw it away. It didn't feel familiar enoug... moreh for you to take it!-, and all you care is if he looks at you or not. THAT's the only thing that can bring you down; never mind the constant, tangible, danger of being raped. Are you kidding me?For me it's unreal. It can't be. Who acts like that? Emotionless empty rocks, that's who.
review 2: Anastasia Romanov is a personal obsession of mine, and therefore this may be biased. Even though the novel had some scenes, characters, and parts added, I found it a wonderful book, full of amazing insight into the months leading up to the Romanov's last days. Even already aware of the girl's fate I couldn't put the book down. I found it very moving and suspenseful. I rooted for her and her family and felt deeply for their tragedy. less
