review 1: I read all three last summer. As the trilogy progressed, I found them to become increasingly more violent with the 'how can we kill someone more horribly than before'. Books One and Two were very good, but Book Three seemed to be a revisiting of the first two. A few surprises, though. The movie Mocking Jay Part I, was outstanding, in capturing Katniss's internal struggles...and I found it better than the book.
review 2: I found the whole trilogy a major disappointment. It was recommended to me by a range of people of a variety of ages, however I feel that it is definitely aimed at a much younger generation. The writing isn't on par at all and is something that I'd think you would find in a child's novel. Overall, there isn't really anything to sink your teet... moreh into and the storyline, although compelling at times, isn't greatly new or original. less
