review 1: I found it difficult to care about the characters and I was so not interested in the fertility curse/breeding aspect of the story. I also found it difficult to follow some of the complex relationships between the many characters (which may have had to do with the fact that I just didn't care.) The book is competently written but there was nothing here that makes me want to continue with the series. YMMV.
review 2: It's been five months since the events of Halloween and Genny is no closer to breaking the curse inflicted on the London fae by the sidhe queen. Genny is still under pressure from the fae community to produce a child. Not only has Genny have the local fae to contend with but also two Goddesses have taken an interest in Genny's life. Several female ... morefaelings are turning up dead with suspicious spells tagged to their bodies. Are the murdered fealings linked to breaking the curse? Genny is determined to find out.Third book in the Spellcrackers series and it is just as enjoyable to read as the previous two. There isn't as much vampire action now that Malik as enforced the 'no fanging Genny' rule on the local vamps. There is still plenty of sexy Malik and the chemistry between him and the sidhe is just as good. I am torn whether I want Genny to be with the whiter than white Finn or Malik. I learnt more about Genny's family history and Finn's ex Helen Crane now that Genny's relationship has gone up gear with Finn. As you expect from a Spellcraker book the plot is just as elaborate and entertaining and keeps you guessing right up until the end. less
