review 1: From Coffeehouse Angel, Katrina Svensen, an employee of her grandmother’s place called Anna’s Old World Scandinavian Coffeehouse, spotted a man name Malcolm, who appears to be a messenger from Heaven, sleeping in the store’s back alley. A few days later, he gave Katrina three coffee beans that grant anyone’s wishes. Unfortunately, two of them were eaten from her best friend, Vincent and her cat, Buttercup, which makes only one bean for Katrina, therefore, with that available bean, she can’t decide what she really want. It’s an awesome book. This story tells you to face reality no matter what happens, for instance, since Katrina had only one bean left, horrible events happened. Her grandmother, Grandma Anna, had a heart attack. The owner of an another coffeehouse... more, Java Heaven, and his daughter, Heidi tried to shut down Anna’s. Heidi forced Vincent to hang out with her no matter where they go. Because of this, she felt very heartbroken and depressed. According to the settings from the book, they’re very descriptive. In pg. 1, Katrina found Malcolm in the back alley from the shop. “The yellow bulb above the back door cast an eerie light, pooling around his brown hair like melted margarine.” Overall, this book is nice, but sad. However, I still would definitely recommend it to those who love a little bit of romance and drama.
review 2: This was a relaxing read. It was humorous, little romance, little family, little friends, colorful atmosphere, light read. Overall it was a great book to get away from a recent book you read full of death, decay, blood, wars, and worldly (unworldly) conflicts where everything is dark, grim, and full of fast pacing and heart pumping action. A Hallmark read is the best I can say about it, (compared to the Walking Dead and Harry Potter.) less
