review 1: Although I went into this book feeling that feminism (as a movement) may have left us bankrupt in different ways, I figured part of that was due to my religious perspective. Imagine my surprise when the primary author describes herself as not being a religious person but merely one with a concern. I don't believe this to be an exhaustive research paper but it is definitely thought provoking. And as much as we'd like to dismiss these sort of thoughts in ourselves and others, I believe we've still seen the negative aspects that she lays out for us. It's a bit difficult to ignore facts, especially facts collected over time, and to ignore the stories you've heard from the women around you. I only wish that those who had written such scathing reviews of this book would have at ... moreleast read (preferably finished) the book before slamming it outright.
review 2: I would give this book 10 stars if I could. This book is extremely important for women. Forget party lines and mommy wars. There is a natural way of things, and this books reminds an indoctrinated generation that it is okay, natural, and gasp, incredibly fulfilling to women and their families to go that way. That way is in the role of mother and wife as a life priority and natural exaltation. This is not an uneducated woman kept under man's thumb, but a woman fulfilled and what it is she was meant to be. This is a woman who is truly free to be content and happy, not always looking for validation. This is the picture of the true strong feminine woman as she is designed to be. It also allows men to be the MEN they were designed to be. This is common sense from the creation of the world reading.Buy it, read it, and get a copy for every woman in your life. Scratch that, everyone should read this. Men will sigh great relief and maybe get to be men again. The tone is kind, the content heavily fact based, and overall well-cited. Over 20% of the book is citations. less
