review 1: Anastasia Romonov is one of my favorite historical characters. Because she was so young and innocent when she died and there was so much mystery around her death, I love books that allow her to live beyond the revolution. This book is one of those. It is so well written and the author covers her bases so well, that by the end of the story I thought, well that was entirely plausible. Throughout the book, I was right along for the ride. Over all really good
review 2: As a long time fan of Fox's Anastasia the film, I couldn't wait to read this and I wasn't disappointed. The book does follow the plot of the film quite closely so you can kind of guess what to expect at certain points, yet Weyn has added her own unique twists and turns, which I won't ruin for you. In
... morestead of the fantasy and magic of the film, the book follows a more historical approach which made the thought of Anastasia surviving seem like a reality and the tale more believable as it was clear Weyn had done her research. I loved the three main characters and their relationships with each other. I was so happy when each of them got their happy endings, they seemed so real to me that I felt they deserved them.I would recommend this to anyone who loves fairy tales or even maybe a little bit of history. I sped through it as I felt I couldn't put it down as I wanted to know what happened. less
