review 1: I've continued reading the Once Upon a Time series. The book I recently read is titled The Diamond Secret and is written by Suzanne Weyn. I really enjoyed this book and the way in which it was written. The enjoyment I received from the book may have had something to with the fact that I have always been fascinated by the story of Anastasia Romanov. Anastasia is the basis for the rewriting of the story. I found it interesting as well because the author was able to tie in history and facts while spinning a newer idea of the mystery behind Anastasia. There is a form of underlying romance tied into the story, which I believe would make it more enjoyable for female teen readers. I also believe that the sense of adventure that the author creates in the tale makes the reading qui... moreck paced and allows the reader to wonder how the author may end the story. Is the girl really Anastasia or isn't she? It is the question that so many people asked for so long when reading and learning about what happened to the Romanovs so it is appropriate that the author is capable of doing this as well.
review 2: This is clearly my favorite book in the Once Upon A Time Series. Before I started reading this I looked up Anastasia to get the whole story: Interesting but terrible! This book, however, was interesting and amazing! I was impressed that the author tied in so much history-using Anastasia's nicknames, and the jewels in the four sisters' petticoats. I did feel like there could have been more; like the story could have been longer. The ending was completely more enjoyable then what actually happened. less
