review 1: Between the secret that's tearing Jaime up inside and Dante's past, there was plenty of conflict in this book. I loved Jaime's work at the animal shelter, I believe all shelters should be run like the one she works in, even if the animals haven't been abused. And Jaime as a person was great, I loved her leap before she looks attitude, even with the crazy amount of self control that she has. Dante was pretty much her opposite in every way, looking, analyzing and planning before he would take that same leap, but that just means their personalities compliment each other, and that they even each other out. This is a great story that I'd recommend to any paranormal romance fan, but I would recommend reading Feral Sin first.
review 2: I didn't hate this book, but I d... moreidn't truly enjoy it, either. My taste in fiction isn't this. The author is skilled enough, so it's not that she writes poorly. It's just that in this book and in the previous book, her male leads have been possessive boors and her female leads have been independent, rebellious bitches. I know plenty of people like stories like that. I get that it's a thing. It's just not MY thing, and while listening to a story like this I want to take a tire iron and strike a fictional character upside the face! (See? She's obviously writing well if she's getting that much of an emotional reaction from me. That's why this isn't a 2 star listen.)I will quickly listen to book 3 in the series just to get it out of my queue for once and for all. I don't imagine that I'll be listening to anything further by this author. Again, she writes well. It's just not my cup of tea. less
