review 1: I listened to this book on Audibles and the narrator did a good job. The third book in the Phoenix Pack series was about Shaya and Nick. In the previous book, we learned that Nick was Shaya’s mate, but would not claim her. Shaya could not deal with it so left the Phoenix Pack in order to get on with her life. In this story Nick finds out she left and searches for her intending to claim her and never let her go. This is my favorite book of the series so far. I loved how Shaya stood up to Nick even though she is considered a submissive wolf and Nick is a true Alpa; and a real powerful one at that. Nick had hurt her by not claiming her. Nick had his reasons and they were good ones in his mind, but unnecessary as most misunderstandings in romance novels between lover... mores. There is a secondary story going on with some human extremist that added a lot to the plot and the series overall. I plan to continue with the series as more books are released.
review 2: I honestly didn't expect to like, no.. absolutely LOVE Nick. He started out with being this jerk in my mind because of how he rejected and abandoned Shaya. But then not only do I find out the reasons behind his actions which makes him the sweetest, the most thoughtful, deep and aboslutely kind man. Which made me absolutely guilty for feeling like I had the right to judge him to begin with. This book, *sigh* no this author and this series is beyond incredible, I sometimes wish I could undo reading this series, just so I could start reading it for the first time and experience all the feelings that came with it all over again. Even though Nick technically didn't do anything wrong, I loved how he courted and wooed Shaya. Aaaaghhh! I love, LOVE all of these characters and I can't wait for the next book. This is without any doubt one of the best werewold series. Highly recommend this to everyone. less
