If I was twitter friends with Sylvia Day, I would send her a message saying "high five for this one, lady." I mean, it's got all the stuff you're looking for:Outlandishly good looking people everywhere. The female protagonist is a lady in the streets and a freak in the sheets. The male protagonist is a hooker with a heart of a gold. The smushin' starts early and it just don't stop.I mean, clearly I am being a little tongue in cheek and sarcastic here...but not a lot and it's actually pretty cool. It's kind of like those cooking shows where chefs have to "deconstruct" a genre, except Sylvia Day did it with bodice ripper romance novels and it tastes delicious.
This is how a romance novel should be written! Anticipation in all it's torrid forms. Lovers who are attracted to eachother from the start with a realistic barrier between them than runs the course of the novel without unnecessary delays or obnoxious interjections to prolong the story. And sex scenes ...wow! Steamy enough to make you grab your own lover and dog ear the page to come back later. Well written dialogue. Didn't find myself skipping or skimming and devoured the whole book in a single evening ...well early morning - but whose counting. ;)
it was ok. if this is what all the fuss about bared to you was about count me unimpressed.
