review 1: I really, really wanted to like this book. However interesting the premise was, the story was slow to develop and not terribly interesting. At 3/4 of the way through it, I have decided not to finish it because I really don't care. At that point in the book, I was still waiting for it to get good. "Good" to me is when I can't wait to pick up the book again or I don't want to stop reading it. I pretty much was forcing myself to read it. Oh well.
review 2: This book was ok, but not nearly as good as the lost years of Merlin. It has a very slow start, I mean a very slow start, which makes it hard to get into, even when you are reading quickly. The characters were good, and it is interesting to see things from the lost years in another light. The ending seemed... more rushed, we spent 27 years doing nothing, and another 3 sitting on a rock, and then all the sudden we have to see the world in a week? I dunno seemed a little backward to me. I would have liked more at the end and less at the beginning. less
