One day he decides to write a story and shares his interests with a little yellow bird who helps Rocket throughout the story with learning more words. The book touches themes like creative writing, editing, and revision. Rocket learns that everything has a name and inspiration can come from anywhere. I think there is also a little message on friendship and developing a trusting relationship. This book is great for grades k-2.
review 2: Ilove it! And I chose it to use with the first grade Unit on the importance of storytelling. Gave it to the teacher so h... moree could see how to best make the connection between library/class work with the students, and he absolutely loves it! He has designed a whole wall for the tree, but he was trying to describe how he'll use it without giving anything away to the kids in the room. Looking forward to having this book be the centerpiece of our next inquiry. less
