review 1: Some excellent descriptive passages do not build to make an engaging novel. The scatter approach does not grab me and doesn't build characters as people I can really care about. The relentless use of the present tense is something that just gets irritating after a while. The author may have potential, but for me this novel does not work. I can see why it would tick a lot of boxes for some people, unfortunately it doesn't for me.

One is reserved, and seething, another is ashamed, another is violently angry -- it was too much, and for me diminished the power of the language itself as well as the revelation of various plot points. In the end, though, I did find myself crying in a coffee shop reading through the last 60 pages over a single latte. So this is probably closer to 3.5 stars. less

This book was not for me. It was well written, but I didn't enjoy it and I didn't finish reading it.

Libro molto scorrevole, a tratti dinamico, finale di una pacifica scontatezza. Not recommend

I'm sad this one is over... LOVED it. Lyrical, moving, complex, dynamic and so much more.
