review 1: I'm a huge fan of Mrs. Allens. I have read all of her books and once again she did not have disappoint. There's Power in the V told the story of the beautiful and desired Bell sisters in their lives growing up in Jersey City, NJ (my hometown btw). Each sister had her own set of issues and I related and felt the emotions in each one of them. This book made me laugh, cry, sad and happy all at the same time. There wasn't an overabundance of drugs, violence, and name brand clothing references... It was strictly a story with an intriguing storyline, no fillers. Every thing played out like a movie and I found myself not wanting it to end even though I stayed up all night reading it. I'm not sure if there are plans in the works for a part 2, but I really hope that there is. I n... moreeed closure and I need to know what became of certain characters that I developed a love for. As with Takerra other books I recommend this, trust me you will not be disappointed.
review 2: I knew that this would be an amazing book, but I could never have expected this! The Bell sisters each brought something different to the table. One moment I was laughing then the next I was in tears. These characters seem so real that you can't help but to share their emotions. It never fails with every book Takerra drops there is always a new man in my life and this time it was Alazo, he is everything! Then there was Treonna's story, which is one that can be hard to hear, but happens constantly in the world we live in. This family was rocked to the core by multiple events, but through it all they had each other. I finished this book in one sitting, I just couldn't put it down until it was completed. This is definitely a 5 star must read. Glad to have this one in my collection. less
