review 1: Elizabeth Blackwell was pretty much my idol as a child (along with Rachel Carson and Victoria Woodhull) so of course I snatched this up the second I saw it at the library. T sneered at the very title, exclaiming "Women CAN be doctors!", full of righteous four year old energy. It went a little over the heads of the 3s, as I expected, but the 4 year old definitely liked it. Hell, I'd buy it even if it had bombed.
review 2: Who Says Women Can't Be Doctors starts out with saying that although there are many women in the medical field, there was a time where women were not allowed to be doctors. The book talks about what the role of girls were back in the 1830s. It provides facts about Elizabeth Blackwell and how she changed the rights of women. This is a great book
