review 1: This was a quick, sexy read that I mostly enjoyed. Blake Landon is a Navy Seal who, after losing one of his best friends on a mission, has been ordered to take two weeks of leave. While on his leave he runs into a beautiful redhead that he initially tries to stay away from (he has decided he's not going to bury his grief in a woman), but when he runs into her again he can't help himself. Alexia Pierce grew up in a military family and is adamant about not dating anyone in the service. She recently moved back to California from NY and is contemplating dating her boss, but there are no sparks. She spots a hot guy on the beach and then again in a local bar, and they end up in bed together for two unbelievable days. Neither talks much about their personal lives, so she ha... mores no idea Blake is military, until he shows up at her dad's retirement party - he had no idea she was his CO's daughter that the admiral was trying to fix him up with. But they both have communication problems, despite that being their professional specialties, and don't see each other again until Alexia is in need of a rescue. I liked the characters, the story was good and interesting and the sex was hot. But, I hate it when an author doesn't bother to do basic, easy-to-do research. There were numerous military references that were just wrong. Officer's don't enlist. Navy Seals (or anyone on the Navy for that matter) are NEVER called soldiers. An aircraft carrier is a huge ship - it doesn't travel from Alaska to "land" in Coronado after a rescue mission. All these things are so easy to look up on the internet or just ask someone in the Navy. When there are mistakes like this it distracts from the story. Because of this I'd rate this book 3.5 stars.
review 2: It just wasn't get up and grab you stuff. I really don't like the whole steal the boss's daughter type of plot though, so my review might be unfair from the get go. I probably should have just passed, but I was really looking for a hot man in uniform, man's man protagonist for a romance. He doesn't spend much time in uniform :) Poor pick on my part. But very contrived story. I never end up caring about either of the characters. less

Just read it. The characters are real, the sex is hot, and I love the ending.
