review 1: This was an enjoyable, sexy book. Eden Gillespie's family has been part of Ocean Point for generations, but after her father died when she was young and their financial situation deteriorated, she's been left on the outskirts of society. Her wishes are that her new veterinary clinic takes off, that she is accepted with the in-crowd, and that she get to have birthday sex with Cade Sullivan. Cade was the golden boy, who the town still loves but who disappointed his father when he became a Navy Seal instead of joining the family business. He's a legend with the women, and the select group who have been with Cade are called "Cade-ettes." He grew up next door to Eden and always seemed to be around when she needed rescuing. It's no different this time, when he comes home af... moreter his dad has a heart attack. Eden decides to make her move to have a brief fling with Cade during his visit and they become the talk of the town after spending time together. I really liked Eden - despite all the obstacles that were thrown into her path, she kept a sunny attitude. And although he tried to hide it, Cade's vulnerable side came out. This was a much better read than the first book in the series!
review 2: This book packed a lot of emotion & heat in a relatively short read. Cade is a SEAL who is in mourning over his best friend, who was killed in action right in front of him. Eden was his younger next door neighbor, who had a history of being a little clumsy. Cade had always been her "hero", rescuing her from trees & other things, and she always had a giant crush on him. He comes home temporarily & she propositions him. From there, things get steamy & feelings get involved for both of them, but it doesn't come easy for them.I really enjoyed seeing how they would get to the HEA & the Epilogue had a touching surprise! less
