review 1: Teresa Mummert continues us on Cass and Tucker's relationship ride. It picked up where White Trash Beautiful ended and was thoroughly entertaining for me. Cass tries to overcome so many things and does a pretty good job of learning to stand on her own, while learning to also lean on and accept help from Tucker. An overall good ending to their story and will definitely read the next book in this series.
review 2: I'm not sure what possessed me to read this book. I disliked the first one but was hoping that things would get better in the second one. I should have known better. The first book got worse and worse as the pages passed and this one was no better. The sharp decline in what little plausibility was left completely vanished and gave way to fraught teen-
... moreage emotions, bickering, and painful exclamations of eternal love. After running away from Tucker so that he doesn't throw his talent and future away for her, he does just that. Eventually he tracks her down and she tosses all independence and strength she'd gained aside to follow him around like a lovesick puppy. They do nothing but make each other and everyone around them miserable for a hundred pages while she feels trapped by his intense feelings for her and threats of dismantling his life to be with her. And then things get worse, a little better, a little worse, and so on through another roller coaster of emotions and pride clashing. The story is banal and the writing mediocre. I cannot believe there's still one more book to come. less
