review 1: I really love Teresa Mummert! Pretty Little Things was one of my best reads this year and Rellik was fun, too. I love the screwed up characters with raw emotions. This story was full of twists and turns and every time I thought I had everything figured out, something new would unfold. I think that speaks wonders for the author. That she could develop such an intricate plot line that had me guessing and also had me being proven wrong just shows how much she put into this book. Rellik is hot. Like HOTTTTT. I really enjoyed the steamy scenes between Ella and him and just the chemistry between them as a whole. There were a few things that bothered me about this one, which is why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. Mostly, I think the connection built between Ella and Rellik happened ... morea little too quickly for me and I just couldn't identify with the intense feelings they had or how they were sharing so much with each other so quickly. (SPOILER ALERT) When Ella told Rellik she loved him at the end, they had known each other all of four days and I just didn't find it believable. Now, that being said, these characters did go through a lot of sh*t with the same people and they had a lot of their pasts intertwined, so I get the bonding and such but I think I just needed to see more of them falling in love. It was a lot of emotional ghost confronting, but to me, there was just something missing.Overall, I would recommend this one. It was different, dark, and sexy. 4 stars!
review 2: This was a maybe book for me and I could tell when I was reading it. There were times that I almost gave it up, but I wanted to know the connection between Ella and Rellik. Then when the connection came out I thought about giving it up again, these 2 were a train wreck, but once again something kept me reading. By the time the book was done I was ready for it to be done. I sort of have a hard time believing that everything could happen to Katie and Ella and people didn't know, have a clue, or do something to help. Even with my issues with the book I was glad to see how this one ended, even Ryder's last visit to an old acquaintance. less

I can't enjoy books where the hero/heroine is instantly in love.
