review 1: I liked this book way more than I thought I would, not knowing anything about it beforehand. I thought it was interesting, the plot kept moving, I liked the characters & time period. Everything was fantastic until the ending-what happened? I feel like the climax took a nose dive and she either couldn't figure out how to end it or wrote the end with a sequel in mind-ugh. Would have been 4 stars.
review 2: I tend to shy away from anything fantasy related; vampires, werewolves, hobbits, witches, magicians.. Etc. This is the kind of book to convince me not to be so close-minded. An interesting story that kept my attention the whole way through.I must point out that as much as I liked the book, there is definitely a read for the four out of five stars. That reas... moreon is named Anna Van Housen. I found her character so f*cking annoying at times (yes, it was that bad). It made me reflect when I was her age and hope I wasn't that blatantly self-centered. less
