review 1: Marin Kane was 56 years old, a retired English professor and a fairly new widow (of husband Andrew). Since her two sons were grown and had 'left the nest', she sold her home and moved to Cedar Key to be with her mother. Dora, 78, was still very active in her knitting shop. Dora had a partner, Chloe who also welcomed Marin into the business. The three ladies decided to expand the knitting business to include needlepoint which Marin would manage for them. This required extensive remodeling. They hired a man, Ned, who gave them an estimate and began work. However, he had a heart attack and the work would have to be set back for about 2 months while he recovered. Enter... Worth Slater, 65, handsome, tall, and rather rich. Since retiring he liked to keep busy and offered to pic... morek up the remodeling where his friend, Ned, left it. Marin discovered that her husband had been unfaithful while they were married and had fathered a daughter, Fiona. It seems that he never visited the mother or the child, but he had set up child support. When Fiona's mother was killed in a car accident the lawyers were looking for Andrew to signoff on the money that had accumulated in the bank. When Marin was finally contacted in reference to the money she was shocked to learn of her husband's infidelity. This story relates to how she handled that knowledge and how it affected all the people involved... including the new man in her life, Worth Slater. The book is well written with very likable characters and a thought provoking story line. I enjoyed it very much and look for more from this fine author.
review 2: I love this series, plain and simple. It centers around some of my favorite things - knitting and the west coast of Florida where I live. This series doesn't get stale because each book is written from a different character's viewpoint. This time, the main character is Marin whom we've met in previous books, but knew little about. I would strongly suggest reading this series in order because each book adds another layer to the community of Cedar Key. Although you may be able to guess where the story line will go, it's a pleasure reading about the journey.Really looking forward to the next book. less
