review 1: Four years ago, Cecily and Luke were sweethearts. Then he went off to war, became a Hard Man, and returned to terrorize Cecily. Seriously, he's kind of an asshole. But then the mysterious werestag saves Cecily's life! WHAT WILL HAPPEN. Luke's mood switches, man! He's basically like the biggest douche on the planet until he suddenly...isn't? It's very sudden and disconcerting and not very believable. The secondary romance was cute, however!
review 2: As usual Ms Dare does not disappoint. Even though this book is only a novella and a very quick read (6 chapters) she not only paints a vivid background but she quickly brings her characters to life. I don't think I have ever been disappointed by her talent. I normally try to stay away from short novels because the w... moreriter never pulls me in and always leaves unanswered questions, not so with Ms. Dare. I think my only complaint I have with the book is that I love her writing skills so much that I always want more and thought had she done a full blown novel she had a great idea and really could have run with it. Had she done that it would have garnished a five star but her talent doesn't rate below a four ever. less
