review 1: I finally read it! This has been on my shelf for ages and I decided 2014 was the year I was going to commit. I had heard such lovely things about it, I don't know why it took so long.There were some truly, beautiful moments in this book. I found so much personal inspiration I can't believe I didn't read this earlier. It was exactly what I needed to read and my copy is marked to pieces. Things I have been worried about, and other things I have shunted to the side re-emerged in here with the answers I needed. I will say that there were a few dry sections. Maybe they won't be the next time I read it. A couple of times I felt like I was re-reading Ensign articles ("I've read that story before. ...and that one. ...and that one"), but otherwise it was fantastic. I feel... more rejuvenated and ready to tackle the world ("Who DARES to attack Motherhood?! I shall defend thee!")
review 2: This was an amazing look back at the history of the Relief Society. This book seemed to be inspired in our day of confusing messages and differing opinions. I read most of this book when it came out three years ago, but looking at it with fresh eyes strengthened my testimony of the divinity of womanhood and our sacred obligations in the kingdom of God. I'm grateful to be a part of the most incredible women's organization ever formed on the earth. I know it was divinely authorized and inspired under the priesthood authority. This book, along with Sheri Dew's Women and the Priesthood will be taught to my own daughters. less
