review 1: Luis Alvaraz is Peacekeeper Wyr on special assignment. Luis got alittle too close to Nirvana Silver Mining Company and it nearly cost him his life. Luis in Wyr form is beaten and bloody to the point of death only to be rescued by Claudia Hunter. Claudia Hunter is former special ops military traveling alone with no particular destination in mind. However Claudia sees unidentifiable lump along side the highway and moved to help. Claudia takes big dog to local vet Dan Jackson. Together they work towards giving their level best care to the animal only to discover it's a Wyr. Claudia gets caught up in a situation that is similar to many military ops she's done in the past. Luis reluctantly trusts Claudia with his name but not much else. Who is behind Luis' attack? What is Nirva... morena Silver Mining Company hiding? Your answers await you in Natural Evil.
review 2: I'll be honest I didn't read Oracle's Moon which was the book to read if I'm following the series order. I would have read it, but somehow I got my stories mixed up! I thought Natural Evil was first (oops!).Would you have to have read the other books in the series to enjoy? No, you wouldn't. This is such a short short story that you wouldn't need to know all that much about the Elder Races- the novella gives a few details. You don't have a continuation of any previous plot that I saw.Was I thrilled with this novella? Not really. As much as I like the world- this didn't give me a lot it- it was just two characters who were brand new (I don't recall either being in any previous story). Plus it was way too short and I didn't really like Claudia. Luis was pretty awesome though- at least I'm thinking so. less
