review 1: This book was Fifty Shades of Grey between an harpy and a bi-racial wyr. I liked Quentin. I really did, and his bdsm fetish didn't bother me in the least. What bothered me was the fact he has lived this long and didn't know it was okay to be who he was. The other thing that bothered me was for the first half of the book, the bdsm read like it was the plot of the book. I would have rather read about them trying to kill each other than them being confused in the head about wanting to beat the shit out of each other then fuck. I wish more thought was put into the ending of the book as it was the first half of the book. The best part of the book to me was Drago kicking their ass while holding Peanut. And Aryal finally submitting to Pia. Just a thought... I couldn't hel... morep but wonder what kind of baby they would make.
review 2: Another excellent addition to the Elder Race series (I reeeaaaallllyy enjoy this series it's one of my favourites at the moment). This book is about a harpy Aryal (a sentinel for Dragos who I really disliked until I read this book) and Quentin Caeravorn (a new sentinel for Dragos and Pia's old friend) and we follow them as their explosive relationship comes to head.You know what I loved the most about this book (besides Quentin Caeravorn obviously) is that Thea Harrison has done such an amazing job of taking a character I could not stand, to a character who I now consider to be one of my favourites in the series (that dear readers is a sign of an excellent writer).Normally I complain that some bits are a bit too slow or something just doesn't fit quite right but this book had none of that. Even the 'slow' bits had character development and I was completely hooked on learning more about Aryal and Quentin (everything was good about this book). less
