review 2: A very interesting start.I have but 1 complaint:The book was predictable as heck. Seriously. I closed the book and thought to myself "Huh. Nothing was really surprising". This is another book about star-crossed lovers. Now, you don't like the whole cheesy, romantic stuff, then this probably isn't the book for you. I found that a lot of the book was about Aria and her love problems. I don't know how I really feel about Aria. She was a very predictable character. The rest was all about the uprising and getting those people in the depths some equality. Oh, then there were little parts about the spoiled upper-class and how separation is either really good or really bad. Because apparently they don't have problems with the way that the mystics and poor people are being treated. This novel kept my attention and I wanted to keep reading. But, it kind of feels like your typical dystopia novel. Basically, if "Black City" and "Slated" had a baby, "Mystic City" would be the name. Not that bad, but predictable. I enjoyed it though. less
