review 1: I received a copy of Lethal Code from a GoodReads giveaway in exchange for an hones-t review. If I could have given this a 3.5 I would have, but didn't think it was quite a 4.0. An engaging, easy- to read book. I didn't think the characterizations were as good as they could have been. The storyline almost had that quality that one would find in one of those mini-series television shows that just keep you strung along, which is not necessarily a bad thing because you can just keep on reading until you come to the end. The thing that kept me going was the fact that this situation could really occur today or into the near future. Our lives are so dependent upon technology. Most of us probably adapt well to life without iPhones, iPads, computers, not to mention no electric... moreity and widespread diasters. It was fascinating taking that idea even further with the international complications and disasters that would escalate because of being powerless. A lot of us don't even read printed books anymore, If the power grid went down we wouldn't be able to finish the books we had been reading. Yes, you buy them, but they are only on your devices which would eventually need a charge. This book makes me think that maybe we should still appreciate our libraries and our own printed books.
review 2: This was a compelling and fast-paced cyber thriller that made me shudder to think if such remote cyber attacks on the United States could be possible. YIKES! I thoroughly enjoyed the involvement of the Seals, everyday heroes , the government workers and how everyone worked tirelessly to thwart these anonymous cyber terrorists.I enjoyed the author's first book, loved this book and look forward to his next sequel. less
