review 1: I loved this book so much. Both of the main characters were so vividly portrayed. Seeing the world through Lakshima's eyes was so interesting. Seeing her evolve was exciting. Maggie was complex and interesting. This is one of those books that you don't want to end. The choices that Maggie and Sudhir made about their relationship struck me hard too. To think that you can ruin something great that has been building for 30 years with a foolish mistake is sobering and I believe, very true. A great cautionary tale about having an affair. I both loved and hated how the book ends. It's not tidy but more like real life. I had a very hard time putting this down and it was the first thing I thought of when I woke up on last day I read it. Highly recom... moremend!
review 2: This review is based purely On the way this book made me feel. I keep thinking of Laxmi. I love her and hate her. I love Maggie and hate her. These people were just so human. The feelings described seemed exaggerated like a romance novel but at the same tome they were very human. I loved the connection Laxmi had with nature and animals and people. This book is real life... Real flawed people, making mistakes, hurting others, getting hurt and go on living looking for love, acceptance. These people were real, their feelings so real. I kept reading and reading! less
