review 1: The thing with Tilly Bagshawe is, she can imitate the master, but then, imitation seldom wins prizes. She is an amazing writer and you fail to notice the difference between her way of writing and his, but then again this leads to her downfall. She is predictable. The book was good, but the plot could be predicted. This book can be compared to a light hearted read after days of reading sombre books.
review 2: It was a nice book, capturing and entertaining. The only thing that bothered me, especially in the beginning, was the fact that it seemed very similar with the book "if tomorrow comes". First of all, in both books, a very close person of the heroine (gracie's husband and tracy's mother) died, leaving her all alone against the whole world, something that en
... moreded up in both of them being imprisoned. Then, the scenes inside prison, the physical examination, the inmates etc were pretty much the same, as if copy- pasted, and finally what i really hated was the presence of gavin williams and daniel cooper, who both wanted to punish grace and tracy for the "sins" they had committed, portraied as very religious, in a obsesive- compulsive sort of way.Once i got through the firstthird of the book , though, it was as if the whole plot was very capturing and made me forget what was bothering me in the first place. less
