review 1: As far as debut novels go, this is a good one, the plot & style of writing flows along nicely. Believable lead character, with a little bit of his personal life & back story explained, making you feel you understand & know him more. My only criticism is that some of the more dramatic, confrontational scenes were a little bit repetitive, which prevented me from giving it more stars. Good plot, & over all gripping story & I certainly will be reading more of Tim Weavers books.
review 2: I found this a bit grim and gruesome and the violence wasn't to my liking. I liked it at first but, as it got towards the end, I was thinking the coincidences were over the top. How could the protagonist carry on after having been tortured so cruelly? And it was very much, Suspen
... mored your credibility if you want to believe in this narrative. So many lucky interventions at just the right time. A chance memory at the end which identifies someone. However, I would still recommend this as a good read as the plot is very different from the norm. less

Starts off well but falls apart in the last quarter. I wouldn't bother with this one.
