review 1: It started cute and then it was like a "Do what?" type of story. L.B. lied to his sweet mama since his dad was gone and they were hungry. Breaking the rules he ends up on the road where he isn't allowed and talks to another child like himself. When she explains the situation to him it almost clicks on what is going on with Little Red's granny. In a mood of niceness ever after never meeting her before he goes to test his theory. It is an interesting thought while the author does a nice twist of relating all the fairytale wolves to this one family of wolves in the story but I just don't like the way that the story ends. L.B. who has never done anything wrong that we know of besides offer to help out another young creature, get some food in his stomach and hopefully find his ... morefather ends up looking like a criminal. That is what I don't like about the story at all. And the two officers irritate against the nerves - one running by the book with police jargon and the other one translating *smh*. These are definitely not for me.
review 2: I laughed the whole way through the intro but then didn?t enjoy the story. I love that Mr. Lansky took the idiosyncrasies of some of our favorite fairy tales and brought them into today?s world, because while I love fairy tales, I?d hate for my daughter or nieces to think that they need a man to rescue them!But this story fell a bit short for me. It was cute, no doubt, just not as much fun as I was expecting and I really had trouble keeping the kids interested ? even though it was short.I?ll absolutely try a few of the others but this one just didn?t click for me. less
