review 1: The book started so amazing. it was so interesting. but as soon as Babo and Sian married the book started to get boring with nothing to tell. I think the writer couldn't think of any story so he started killing the characters one after the other, and maybe just to add to the melancholy feel of the book. Close to the end however the story got interesting and I really loved how it ended. How he mixed a tragic life event into the lives of the characters, i think it made the story feels real. I am rating it 4 stars because i loved the start of the book and the end and i must say it was all in all very well written.
review 2: one thing that i remember the most about the book is the pleasure that its words gave me. not just the words, but the tandem of emotions that ... morethe book offered through the characters' lives was immensely enjoyable for me. a marriage across borders, the welsh bride trying to fit into an Indian culture, a panorama of feelings, a great grandmother with a wonderful psychological aptitude, and so on mixed together to form a wonderful book, the pleasure seekers. less
