review 1: Loved it! A great start to the series. Don't let the cover fool you. It's not just a sweet summer romance, it was hot! Mick Brody. Can I just say, wow! Sexy, mysterious, sweet, domineering, hot, yummy, grrrr......Lost focus there for a second.Anyway, I enjoyed the town and the characters. The women felt a bit like characters from the show Hart of Dixie but this book came out before the show so that is just a coincidence. They were pretty southern acting, had picnics, small town, women would wear the dresses and such. I really enjoyed it. Jenny could have felt a bit generic as the 'good girl'. She didn't really want to become the 'bad' girl but she wanted people to see her, not the just the image that they saw when they looked at her. With Mick, he saw the image but he ... morewanted to see what was beneath it. He had also had a crush on her for about 18 years so when he gets the chance to spend the summer with her, he jumps at it thinking she will turn him down. But Jenny needed Mick, they are able to help each other grown and open themselves up to life and feelings they hadn't felt before. I must say when I started this I didn't get what I expected. Especially that fist chapter, holy moly I did not see that coming. Or most of the scenes between Jenny and Mick. They were real ,raw, intense and not at all what I expected, in the best way possible.I would have loved the book to be longer but I am extremely happy that there are more books in this series so I will hopefully get some updates on Mick and Jenny.
