review 1: There were a lot of things that I liked about this book, as well as a lot of things I didn't like. The story is about Brooke and Logan. They have a chance meeting before something terrible happens to Brooke. He helps her through the situation and the next day she disappears. Months later he happens upon her again and they are finally in a position to develop a relationship. The first half of the book has a lot of drama. There is a crazy person out to get Brooke and Logan helps her every step of the way. There is also the added element of learning who her true father is. It is all resolved very nicely and I was curious what was to come in the second half.I loved the love story between the two. It was very sweet and felt genuine. I would like to see where it goes from here. Al... morel of the secondary characters were nicely done and I connected with them.I didn't like the dual POV because it switched too frequently. In the middle of a scene it would switch between the two. It was jarring and messed with the flow. The one scene in the point of view of her father was also odd.I also didn't like the writing in some parts. It would switch from "She is so cute!" to talking about her boobs in graphic terms.. It felt a little juvenile at times and then would switch to explicit.. I would love to read more from this author and see her develop her talents further.
review 2: This book is horrible. I am so irritated that I bought the sequel too based on the good reviews. There are typos and grammatical errors constantly. The writing is on a 5th grade level. Not descriptive at all. For example:"When she said ,"Fuck me harder Logan," I couldn't help myself. I filled her with my come. Luckily she came at the same time." Are you kidding me? It's like reading the a freaking reference manual. Blasé and boring! Nobody talks to themselves like that!Also...just annoying as hell...exclamation points used awkwardly where they do not belong:"You are so fucking hot, Brooke," I breathed. " I am so lucky to have you!" This is on the shower floor, embracing each other after the previously mentioned synchronized climax. He's supposedly in love with her but he calls her "hot" after an intimate moment and then yells in her ear. How about calling her "beautiful" and not yelling in her ear?Get me a torch so I can burn this horrible excuse for a romance novel. Hopefully the author will use the profits from me stupidly buying 2 books and put it toward a descriptive writing class. less
