review 1: I am not a fan of shifter books, or anything where the romance is pre-determined rather than developed naturally. Perhaps I missed something pertinent by going straight to book 2 in the series, but it seemed that the two MCs had 'mated' and their partnership was destined. I also didn't really enjoy the mpreg aspect of the story, I do find the concept a little weird if I'm honest. Not something I'd read again.
review 2: Tommy reminded me way too much of a particular kind of outdated romance heroine. At least I hope that concept is outdated.Now that I think about it, Declan from book one also had the makings of a woman. Throw in the male pregnancy and we have full-on heroine replacement. With the big, strong and, uh, hairy tops and the slender, hairless and shy b... moreottoms. Ah well.The story – I don’t know. It could have been worse but it also could have conveyed a lot more beyond those staples.As much as I enjoy reading something entirely undemanding when the weather is so viciously hot, perhaps it is time to up the quality just a little. less
