review 1: I am a recent convertee (is that a word? lol) to Toni Griffin and for that I can most definitely thank Jenni Lea, Brandilyn & Crissy. Thank YOU so much guys. I really, really, really needed a shifter story tonight and since everyone wholeheartedly raved about the 'Holland Brothers' series I decided tonight was the night to begin 'Unexpected Mate'.I loved Brian from the moment he appeared on the page. Everything about him appealed to me, and this was before I discovered what a sarcastic, snarky mouth he could have. Once I heard that, I was over the moon! His parents and his former pack just pissed me the hell off, but I wasn't too happy with Marcus in the beginning, either. I could understand Marcus' feelings. His three brothers are gay and Marcus is the only one who can pr... moreovide cubs and Marcus really wants a family. But, to turn away from beautiful Brian. Argh! I was very happy to see Marcus come to his senses, BUT, I was happier to see Brian NOT do the immediate forgive & forget. Instead, they did a little dating before Marcus claimed Brian and took him home to the gigantic house Marcus and his brothers share. Now, if only, Marcus' ex-girlfriend (hoebag) would get a clue. HA!I adored this first book in the series and now I'm running off to read the next installment!
review 2: Within the space of two years Zack lost nearly everyone that had ever meant anything to him Zack is left alone with only his eighteen month old daughter. Her ultra-religious and homophobic grandpnts will do anything they can to take his daughter away from him. To stop this, Zack moves to a small town in northern Victoria. Simon has been gay since he was fifteen and he had resigned himself to never being a father. Walking into his house one eftenoon,he is shocked to find not only his mate, but a two year old calling his mate daddy. . I liked this book well enough originally, but always thoughtwe could have been given the back story in a better way Zack has suffered a lot of loss in a short amount of time it's heartbreaking. The only light is his daughter Hayley. i picked up this book because i wanted to read other genres i finished this book because i wanted to know if simon was ready to be a father and if zack would open up his heart to simon less
