review 1: This second book in the series was a disappointment. Paradoxically slow, yet rushed, I was expecting there to be more conflict regarding Aiden and Jackson's past, however there wasn't any other than one punch. Yes, they're mates. And yes, we're told they lust after each other, but I for one couldn't feel any heat or passion between them. Add to this, too much telling and not enough showing, a lame 10 page mystery that tried - and failed - to add any tension to the story and I guess the word for this book would, sadly, be boring.
review 2: Not as good as the first book but still enjoyable. The pacing was slow when I reached the middle third of the story. Plot-wise, I think the reformed bully falling in love with the person bullied in the past and then pursuing t... morehe said bullied party is already overdone, even with the added paranormal spice. Still, I have high hopes for the next instalment as I love this author. I hope it will be better. less
