review 1: I downloaded this book for free from Amazon with only a basic understanding of what I was getting into. Generally I stay away from Sci-Fi YA books, finding them, for the most part, to be rather superficial. I have to admit that this book struck the right balance between technologically compelling and pleasantly entertaining. The story follows the awakening of Socket Greeny into a super secret organization called the Paladins who are dedicated, at all costs, to protecting humankind from destruction. If you enjoy future tech, secret organizations, and a bit of far flung, but interestingly fun, speculation, I couldn't recommend this book more.
review 2: This is a book I won in a giveaway. It's the first in a planned trilogy. I'm not a big science fiction fan, bu
... moret thought it looked interesting and am willing to try new books. If I hadn't said I'd post a review, not sure I would have finished the book. The book should be rated 2.5 stars. The book starts slowly introducing us to Socket and his two friends Chute and Streeter. After an journey into virtualmode, things start to go wrong. Socket is whisked away (through a wormhole) by his mother to the Paladin nation. The pace picks up in the middle of the book and Chute and Streeter make an appearance again by the end to help save the world. If you're a science fiction fan, you may like this. I just didn't. less
