review 1: While I am not normally a huge fan of history or romance, this book did a fantastic job of keeping me engaged. Also, while this is a second book in the series, and I haven't read the first one, I had no problem following the storyline. The only thing that I didn't like is that there was not a lot of stuff that really happened in the book. For this reason it took me a couple of days to finish as I found it hard to read for more then short periods of time. Maybe its because I didn't read the first one? The author did a good job of descriptions but sometimes I would find it going on for more then one page before a character spoke or moved. Overall it was a good read.
review 2: I've read one other in the series, I think. I liked the doctor, but it felt like we jum... moreped in the middle of his relationship with Amanda. Liked the banter between the two in the beginning. Couldn't understand why Blake left such a vague note. I also didn't prefer Amanda's attitude about the forced marriage. Her father seemed like a jerk and for all her willfulness she should have stamped her foot down. But I loved the last page. less
