review 1: Trudy Ludwig is great at writing books to provoke thoughtful discussion, and this one might just be my favorite so far. The Invisible Boy is the quiet, shy boy that no one ever talks to, and how he finally makes a friend is a sweet story. It would be a great book for class discussions for younger elementary school, or one on one discussions between caregiver and child. Alas, a bit too old for my storytimes, but I'm glad I've read it, and will recommend to others. I really love the art by Patrice Barton, too. Very well done.
review 2: A story about the quiet kid in class who gets overlooked and sometimes excluded. When he befriends the new kid in class he's no longer invisible to everyone. I can absolutely relate to this little boy. I was the quiet kid who somet
... moreimes felt invisible. It wasn't because everyone was mean to me but because I wasn't outgoing and didn't like to stand out as much as others did. Plus, it just took me a while to warm up to people and took someone willing to make the effort to get to know me. I'm grateful for the people who've made the effort and have given me a chance. I loved how they had questions at the end for discussion and also recommended other related books for adults & kids to read. less
