review 1: In an epic battle which practically destroyed Welcher Elementary School, sixth graders Spencer Zumbro and Daisy Gates along with the wizard-like Rebel Janitors temporarily vanquished the Bureau of Educational Maintenance. However, the battle against Toxites - the small creatures that love to feed off the brainwaves of students - continues. Now Spencer, Daisy, and even Dez must fight to save schools everywhere - although Toxites are only the beginning of their troubles. The Bureau of Educational Maintenance is hunting for Spencer, so the Rebels hope to sneak him to safety within the walls of an elite private school. But danger follows Spencer and his friends, testing their loyalty and trust as well as their Toxite-fighting skills. Can they hold out long enough to discover th... moree true secret of New Forest Academy and what it means for the future of education?Again, I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The story continued along wonderfully, full of action and completely believable characters. I give this book an A+! and can't wait to start reading the third book in the series; Janitors: Curse of the Broomstaff.
review 2: I just finished "Janitors Secrets of New Forest Academy" by Tyler Whitesides. I thought it was even better than the first book of the Janitors series. This book is a good book because I think that there are lots of different mysteries, teamwork, and action. It has a happy ending to the book! The main problem the book addresses is that Spencer is being chased down by the evil B.E.M (the Bureau of Educational Maintenance) and has to flee to another school. Spencer is also trying to find his dad. This setting is in two different schools. It takes place during school hours and also after school hours. There are four main characters in this book. Spencer the protagonist, is the main character in the story. He can see invisible creatures that almost no one else can see. He is trying to save his dad and his friends. Daisy and Jenna are Spencer's really good friends. They too, can see the invisible creatures and are trying to help Spencer find his dad. The last main character is Slick, the evil Janitor, who is after spencer. Slick is Spencer's rival. They hate each other. This story starts with Spencer's dad missing, but Spencer soon realized that his dad was lost somewhere at a B.E.M convention. The B.E.M started chasing Spencer. He was chased to two different schools. The first one was Welcher elementary, he stayed there for a while until it started crawling with toxites and B.E.M members. He knew they were only there for him, so he ran to the next school with some of his friends. The new school he went to was New Forest Academy. That's where he found his dad. When he first found his dad at the new school, his dad was locked in a dumpster, and Spencer had no idea who it was that was in the dumpster. It was held shut by some vac dust and duct tape around it. He couldn't get out of it by himself. He was being held captive in that garbage by the B.E.M. Spencer's dad was a big help to them, that is why they wouldn't let him go. He would help them find his son which he hadn't seen for a long time.I liked that this book was better than the first book because it was like times two of everything that I said before in the other Janitors book report! There were two quotes from the book which I absolutely thought were great. First, "I don't like where this is going. You've got your father's scheming look in your eye." (Pg.80) I liked this quote because Spencer had the same ideas as his dad, which is the same with me and my dad most of the time. Second, "It's a plan as old as the devil. Uneducated people are easier to controll." (Pg.261) I really thought that this quote was funny.I think that one theme in the book is the importance of working together as a team. An example of this is when Spencer and Daisy fight off the toxites working together. They fought them back to back, and they had to use teamwork to get away. They couldn't have done it alone.I recommend this book to boys and girls, especially teens. Adults would also enjoy reading this book if they were to read it. less
