review 1: I liked this book, but the problem is that I really liked the first one a lot and it set the expectations too high. The premise of member of a poetry group on FB dying was intriguing, but in the end it didn't quite manage to carry the whole story. Everything folded rather slowly and while you could tell the deaths happening were connected, it didn't wrap up nicely until on the last pages. Also, if you're like me and know something about Slavic names it was more frustrating than fun to figure out one of the biggest twists of the story way before the detectives did. It's a solid crime novel, but not something I'd be thinking about months later.
review 2: Luin suomeksi: Sokeat linnut. Edellinen kirja Viisi oli tosi hyvä, joten odotin tätä innolla. Kirjassa Viis... morei oli geokätköilyyn liittyvä murhajuttu, ja tässä kirjassa taas oli facebook isossa roolissa. Pitkästä aikaa jännärin päähenkilöitä, joihin olen todella mieltynyt ja joiden elämää on kiinnostava seurata: poliisipari Beatrice Kaspar ja Florin Wenninger. Juoni oli tässä kirjassa aika erikoinen ja olin kyllä lähes loppuun asti ihan pihalla siitä, mistä todella oli kyse - mutta se oli ihan hyvä juttu, koska kirja tuli luettelua melkein samantien :) Toivottavasti jatkoa tulee pian! less
