review 1: The truth is, poetry has always been something I find hard to get interested in. I rarely hate or love any that I read. This is the reason for rating down the middle with a 3. Its different when you or someone you are close to writes it because poetry often exposes the soul and internal world often kept hidden and those by friends and close ones,, because of that established connection, are worth it to me. Also, I should mention these are very short poems and I recommend checking it out at the library first. Then, if you find one you can't live without buy it. ;)
review 2: Such brief poems, haiku-like, playful and observant. I had expectations for this collection when I checked it out yesterday, which is probably why I finished it with lukewarmth, or maybe it i... mores just me because the last few books I read gave me the same impression. Who was it that said only boring people get bored. There are a few in here that are my favorites, that I would like to memorize by heart or something, which includes the poem on the cover and the poem reflecting upon how quick it is to say yes. I'm glad that Vera Pavlova's work is now available in English, though, and I am still interested in reading more. less
