review 1: It was fine, a bit of a nonentity read, although I did like the way that Veronica Henry had her main plotline and characters and then wound what was almost flash fiction around them, with characters introduced in a few pages and slightly connected to our main characters. That was clever. Having said that, there was a lot of infidelity, which I'm getting tired of reading about in women's fiction, and it all felt a little too light with not much purpose.
review 2: I really enjoyed reading this book. It was about a row of beach huts in a place called Everdene, North Devon. I found it easy to believe that these beach huts are actually there and that the more 'well to do ' families had bought them and the others were owned by the nearby Hotels. The huts themselves a
... morere the focus of the novel and each one has its own families and stories to tell. The story takes you from the past to the present very easily and did not really need a great deal of looking back to see who is who. The individual stories all seem to overlap somewhat and the final piece of the picture slides in at the end with ease. Great feel good book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. less
