review 1: Did not have the 'charm' of the first book in series. (Sorry!) Deliberate misuse of powers felt icky from the start. Most of the book is very angsty with Heroine feeling very, very guilty over unethical spell vs great sex and the Hero angsting over great sex vs. 'what the hell and I doing - this is just not me' confusion. Did not feel the heart energy. Resolution of her walking away and him instantaneously realizing he was in love with her and 'marry me' just did not ring true for me - perhaps needed a bit more time to develop his clarity with some distance. Disappointed. Will look in next series for Julie's story.
review 2: This is the second A Babes on Brooms book. Lily found a man that she is interested in. Griffin Taylor comes into the bar where she wor... moreks every night after work. She knows he is attracted to her but he has not made a move yet. So she decides to put an adoration elixir in his drink. She does but afterward she kind of regrets doing it, but the sex is fantastic. Griff is totally taken with her and she knows it's the elixir. She starts to feel guilty. But her parents are coming for her sister's engagement party and wedding. She does not want to be alone for those occasions. Will her guilt get to her and make her undo the elixir? I liked this story. Lily was wrong to use the elixir on Griffin. He probably would not have acted on his feelings without it though. I loved the dog Daisy! She was fantastic. So much personality. less
