review 1: Yes,I really liked this book. However, as I read it I kept thinking, "Great story idea but if they would have done THIS it would have been better. The concept is original and compelling. The way the details unfold is a bit choppy. If the structure of the archives would have been better communicated I think the story would have been even better. I would't have kept thinking, "Wait, how does that work?" I still really liked it as the four stars show.
review 2: I went into this book not reading the synopsis and sort of having an idea about what it was about which was totally wrong. I had already put this into a young adult paranormal category, and it was wrong and i apologise to the book and the author for judging them so harshly hahaAll in all, this is a great b... moreook with some solid characters and a pretty cool premise, with the main character being in charge of getting Histories, which are people who have died to go back to sleep... its a topic that I haven't really encountered yet and it came across very believable and fun. Mac was bad ass, not as cool as my new fave female character Celaena from Throne of Glass, but she was pretty awesome. Her and Wesley (who totally made me think of the princess bride right?). But I never quite clicked onto what age she actually was... 16ish? I don't think her age matched her personality, like if she was 18 it would have made more sense to me, but 16 felt like a stretch for the maturity level that was portrayed.Anyway, good book, not going to rush to read the sequel but good book less
