review 1: This book had it moments, but not enough of them to make it worthwhile. The writing, at times, was good, but I assumed that if one offered an inexperienced girl the chance to be a CEO after passing several tests, that this would be a fairy tale. The plot then starts at ridiculous but never makes it to sublime. The last few chapters had so many coincidences and unlikely occurrences that it seemed the author had no idea how to end it. This was so Bollywood.
review 2: Het boek pakte me van het begin af aan. Hoewel het verhaal nogal geconstrueerd is, de hoofdpersoon Sapna vaak pas lang na de lezer op een goed idee komt en de dialogen vaak totaal onnatuurlijk (wie zou er nou ooit zeggen: 'we must galvanise the people'...?!), zijn de avonturen die Sapna achtereenvolg... moreens beleeft afwisselend en boeiend genoeg. Het boek biedt bovendien een interessante inkijk in de Indiase samenleving. Het is gewoon weer eens totaal iets anders. less
